APPEARANCES:
November 4-8, 2023: I traveled down the coast of California speaking about my book and signing copies for three meetings of local chapters of NSCDA (National Society of the Colonial Dames of America). I talked to the Santa Barbara, Pasadena and San Diego Chapters.September 22-24, 2023: I was invited to the South Dakota Festival of Books. On the 22nd I gave a presentation about my book at 12:45 p.m. and did a book signing at 4:30 p.m. It was a delightful crowd, and I enjoyed seeing other authors give talks about their books and the art of writing throughout the weekend.
September 17, 2023: After a long drive north, I visited White Sulphur Springs, Montana. There I gave a talk about the beauty of the Bighorn Mountains, as shown by the amazing photography captured in my book about my grandmother Jessamine. My audience was the Friends of the Library.
September 14, 2023: I was the speaker for the luncheon of the Sheridan chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). They enjoyed hearing about my grandmother's photos from the area and I signed more books. Later that evening I gave a presentation at The Brinton Museum in Big Horn, Wyoming, about the photo artistry of Jessamine Spear Johnson. Of course, I signed more books.
September 6, 2023: A special party to honor my book was given by Susanna and Margie Taylor at the Powder Horn Golf Community in Big Horn, Wyoming this evening. I signed books until my hand hurt !!
August 26, 2023: I did a book signing at the Sheridan Stationery, 535 North Main Street, in my hometown of Sheridan, Wyoming. Owner Jessica Bonsack was a wonderful hostess, and lots of friends and new acquaintences stopped by to pick up a copy of my book.
August 12, 2023: I spoke at the Peninsula Summer Luncheon for the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America (NSCDA) in California. Many of my fellow members has lots of questions about the details of writing a book and I signed their personal copies.
May 11, 2023: I appeared on "History Talks" for the South Dakota Historical Society Press, via Zoom, as part of their current authors series to talk about my recently released book "Bighorn Visions, the Photography of Jessamine Spear Johnson.
March 11, 2023: I presented via Zoom to the Gilroy Chapter of the California Daughters of the American Revolution regarding my new book "Bighorn Visions, the Photography of Jessamine Spear Johnson."
January, 15, 2022: I spoke via Zoom to the Weston County Historical Society in Newcastle, Wyoming introducing them to Jessamine Spear Johnson, An Early Photographic Artist of Wyoming and Montana.
January 11, 2022: I spoke at The Hub on Smith in Sheridan, Wyoming sponsored by the Sheridan Community Land Trust as part of their “explore history programs.” My Zoom presentation was titled: Discovering Jessamine Spear Johnson, An Early Photographic Artist of Wyoming & Montana.
